Last days of Bolivia and Prayer request

Thanks so much for your prayers. This weekend was a super success.  91 people took our evangelism training course, and they all, to the last one, said how blessed and challenged they were, excited to use what they learned.  We were able to distribute among them 30000 tracts and bible studies too.  The pastors that attended and the churches that participated were ecstaticly pleased beyond expectations

Your prayers made the victory possible.

We also had 31 students in our world wide evangelism course, and 8 of them said they wanted to be missionaries to other countries as the Lord called thheem and leads them.

Wow, Latin America is God's net to harvest the middle east and far east for his glory.  We are so blessed to be right in the middle of that!!

Tomorrow I preach three times and Sheryl will be singing a total of 9 songs tomorrow., please pray for strength and open hearts to respond to God, and finally, on Monday we start our trip back to Mexico.  Please pray that there would be excellent weather for the plane to land and take us on to La Paz, finally to Mexico City.  The weather has been off and on, and we want the Lord to give us super  good flying weather, can you  help us in prayer for that

Main Course Served

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are the main purpose for our coming to Sucre, Bolivia: Train churches in local and world wide evangelism.  We have 70 boxes of tracts, 200 Opening Doors Books, 200 Spreading the Seed Books and 130 CDs with the songs for both courses.  It has been a very full week of preparation.  Sheryl and I have already preached in 3 churches and had 6 meetings with pastors and leaders throughout the city.  What a blessing it has been to serve the city of Sucre with the Gospel, and now we are able to offer the main course.  Praise the Lord for his preparation and goodness.

Please pray for us, for God’s anointing to direct and guide us as we teach, sing, and prepare the people who come.  Please pray for people to come promptly, and not to be sidetracked into not attending.  Please pray that we can be faithful servants of God and to his Church.

Yesterday, we got to speak to a group of pastors, sharing with them about how to grow their churches, and Sheryl sang several of her songs.  Then in the evening we were priveledged to speak to a team of Children’s workers about faithful service to Children.

Also, finally, I am preaching three times on Sunday, and we are leaving on Monday AM.  Please pray for excellent weather for our flights on Monday.

Kechuwa Indian Roar of Praise

Last night we had a missions call night.  35 people young and old came forward.  God is moving in Latin America, calling his church to world wide evangelism. Sheryl and I started praying for the people,  Suddenly, there was an explosion of joy and praise broke forth like a spring breaking out of the rock..  It was incredible.  People 60 and 70 years old were dancing in joy before the Lord.  Kechwa Indians, who never change facial expressions were shouting in joy.  Deep profound roars of praise errupting from their innermost being.  God's army preparing to launch an offensive with their mission efforts.  Latin America is God's net to harvest the Islamic world for his glory. What a joy to be involved in doing what God has called us to do, prepare his church for world wide evangelism.  We hope that Sucre, like Cuernavaca, becomes a center of world wide Latin American mission to the Middle and Far East.
That evening, 25 people complained of joint, bone, and muscle pain, and the Lord loosed his healing upon them.  Some who had pain just walking were leaping in praise to God.  It was incredible to be involved in what God was doing.  Sheryl joined the musicians on the stage and started singing with them.  I have no idea at what time of the night we ended up home and asleep. 
Suddenly, at 730 AM, I awoke and remembered that 10 pastors from the city of Sucre were arriving in a short time to hear teaching, training and mentoring on evangelism.  I barely had my pants and shirt on when one of them was knocking on the door.
Thank goodness for Sheryl and Mauri, our hostess, who quickly got things organized, while I was able to teach the pastors how to share the gospel to produce disciples by preaching  repentence, the Lordship of Christ, and total commitment to his cause.  We have another pastoral breakfast tomorrow, and our evangelism training, Opèning Doors, and Spreading the Seed start on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  I will be preaching three times on Sunday, so please, keep me in prayer for strength.  Also pray for Sheryl who will be singing and sharing music with all of the musicians that attend our training program.  She will also be working with drama, so her schedule is as hectic as mine.

Bolivia Update

Dear Friends,

Yesterday  we had a meeting with the city of Sucre’s pastors.  They  wanted to know about  the evangelism and mission training that Sheryl  and  I were offering.  It was very exciting that they embraced wholeheartedly the message of patience, process, the Word of God  and prayer in bringing someone into the fullness of knowing God and living for him.  They  were especially excited about how their local churches in Sucre could be involved in winning the world to Christ, winning people in Pakistan, and Morrocco, and the Middle East.  Please be in prayer for us as we prepare for the training on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Please pray the materials are printed on time, and thank the Lord for the provision to print 400 training manuals here in Sucre!

Last night Sheryl  sang three songs and I preached on Blind Bartimeaus, and 5 people came forward in a small church to receive the Lord.  One was a friend of the family we are staying with.  Later, we prayed for people, especially those with joint and bone pain, and the Lord healed allowed 4 of them to be instantly delivered from pain.

Today I am preaching  again on Sunday Morning as well as the evening evangelism service, and Sheryl will be singing, please keep us in prayer.  On Monday I am having a workshop with 6 or 7 pastors, so please keep that in prayer as well.

Our Arrival and First Days in Bolivia

Bolivia

Sheryl and I arrived in Miami from Mexico City on our way to Bolivia.  However, all of our luggage didn’t arrive with us.  How in the world can they lose luggage without any stops, and checking into the airport 3 hours ahead of time. 

We decided to give it to the Lord, and decided during our five hour layover in Miami to go to Miami Beach, which is only ten minutes away from the airport.  I was able to reserve a rental car for only ten dollars!!

On the beach, we found a man who had recently come to Christ.  His name is Alfonso, and he was living and sleeping on the beach, and had recently found a job.  We gave him a New Testament, since he told us his Bible had been stolen, and I also had an MP3 player with the New Testament that was given to me, so I gave it to him, too.

He was so touched he gave us a picture he had drawn that was quite impressive.  We had a wonderful time there, seeing what God was doing.

We flew from Miami to La Paz, expecting to have to buy a few shirts and pants, since it was my bag that was missing.  After clearing immigration, to our surprise, we found my bag had arrived several hours earlier.  Who know how those things happen.

La Paz is 12000 feet above sea level, and I live in Mexico at 5000 feet.  During the past 5 months I have been riding my  bicycle for an hour a day, preparing for this trip and the altitude.  Let me tell you, at 12000 feet  I was feeling the lack of oxygen, and some kind hearted Police officers directed me to the medical clinic where I was placed on oxygen for about 15 minutes. 

I went and got Sheryl and she got about ten minutes.  That perked us up, and we got on our flight to Sucre, which is only 10000 feet above sea level!!!   Today, both of Sheryls songs were played on city wide radio in Sucre, and I participated in an hour and a half radio talk show.  It was a lot of fun, and I hope we impacted lots of lives for Christ.

Please pray for our trip.  I am preaching an evangelism campaign on Saturday and Sunday, as well as preaching again on Sunday night.  Sheryl will be singing.  We have 3 pastoral breakfasts ahead of us where I will be sharing with the Pastors about  how to keep people from going out the backdoor of the church.  The following week we will be teaching Opening Doors and Spreading the Seed.

Preparations for the Trip and Prayer Requests

On May 3 to May 17th, Sheryl and I will be travelling to Sucre, Bolivia to teach evangelis to the churches that will be gathered together there.  We will be teaching Opening  Doors, which is a six hour training that equips the members of a congregation in friendship evangelism and the formation of disciples.  We will also be training the local churches in Spreading the Seed, a five hour training course that equips local churches in their role in world wide evangelism.  There will be about 15 churches participating and up to 200 people.

Please pray for us that the Lord would send the people he wants, and that we would be good teachers, equipping the church in God’s plan for evangelism, discipleship, and world wide outreach.  Please pray for our children, Emily and Jonathan, that will be staying here with Erica, that the Lord would protect them from harm, that there would be no emergencies or problems for them, and that they would have the joy of the Lord.  Please pray for us for God’s travelling mercies to be upon us, for his protection, and to be free from sickness, accidents, and anyone who would resist doing God’s will.

Sheryl is recording two songs to take on a four song CD that is part of the training courses.  Pray she finishes the songs this week.

Also, please keep  us in prayer concerning the finances for the trip.  We have our tickets, visas, and on Monday we are getting our Yellow Fever shots.  We still need some materials for the trip, and some extra finances for the travel expenses that incur.
